Race Information .

Event: The event is divided into a 15km road race, 10km social walk and 1 mile kids' run . The race is open to all athletes, registered and non-registered. However the organisers reserve the right to require further information about entrants under 16 years of age.

Entries and Fees: Entry is requested by pre-entry (except for the kids' run which will be taken on the day) and should be received no later than Tuesday 28 April 2010. Late entries will be accepted after this date and on the day of the race up to 45 minutes before the start. Please note there will be a late entry fee of $10.00 in addition to the entry fee payable. All fees are non-refundable. Please note any competitor who contravenes general competition or race rules will be disqualified and ineligible for prizes.

Course: The race commences in Rhodes Road,Tai Tapu, opposite Rhodes Domain and heads towards the Otahuna Lodge before turning and returning down Rhodes Road to the Old Tai Tapu Road. Competitors then turn right and head along the Old Tai Tapu Road to the Lansdowne Valley straight turning point returning along the Old Tai Tapu Road and finishing in the Rhodes Domain. All competitors must follow the race marked course and stay as close to the edge of the right hand side of the road as possible unless otherwise directed by a course marshal. Marshals will be placed at points along the course to ensure safety of all road users. Please note the race is held on an Open Road Speed Limit road and the road will NOT be closed to traffic. We request for road safety that vehicles, motorcycles, or cycles etc not accompany entrants. COURSE MAP

Drink Stations: These will be positioned at approximately the 5km and 10km marks.

Times: Times will be recorded for all competitors at the finish. These times will be posted on this website as soon as available.

Check in and Start Times: The race and walk start at 10am. Competitors must register and collect race numbers no later than 45 minutes before the start, from the Rugby Pavilion in Rhodes Domain opposite the starting point. Please arrive early. The kids' run starts at 10.20am and entries must be in 20 minutes before the start.

Race Numbers: The official race number as issued must be worn on the front and be clearly visible at all times during the race. Only competitors wearing an official race number will be allowed to enter the finishing chute.

Prizes: The prize giving function will be held at 12 noon in the Rhodes Domain next to the finish area. To be eligible for spot prizes competitors must be present at the prize-giving function. 15k Road Race: Men; first $250, second $100, third $50. Women; first $250, second $100, third $50. New Balance prize packs for first three men & women 40-49 and 50+ age groups. Walkers and kids will be eligible for spot prizes drawn at the prize giving.

MAJOR SPOT PRIZES: A nights accommodation for two at the Millennium Hotel and complementary breakfast courtesy of House of Travel, Christchurch City. New Balance prize packs.

Parking: There will be no parking on the roadside. Ample parking will be provided in the Rhodes Domain. This will be well sign posted. Please follow marshals as directed. We recommend that drop offs and pick ups occur in RHODES ROAD OPPOSITE THE DOMAIN
